Pressure relief valves
Pressure relief valves relieve the system when pressure becomes too high relative to a preset pressure level. They do this by releasing overpressure in a short period of time when the maximum pressure level is reached. The difference between pressure control valves and pressure relief valves is that the former aims to regulate pressure linearly and keep the pressure level as constant as possible, while pressure relief valves aim to release excess pressure as quickly as possible if it occurs. These valves are suitable for liquids, steam, oil, compressed air, nitrogen and gases.

Application
Pressure relief valves are equipped with a spring, piston or diaphragm whose allowable movement due to pressure changes is precisely set in advance. When the pressure in the system exceeds the allowable pressure level, the piston or diaphragm comes into motion and opens the valve to release the accumulated pressure. When the pressure reaches the desired level the valve closes again due to the force of the regulating spring.
