Tilting-disk check valves
Tilting disc check valves are designed to open and close faster than a standard check valve. Rapid operation is required when critical components need immediate protection from returning flow. However, many check valves are not able to close until the upstream flow is completely eliminated.
In systems where rapidly recurring flow can occur, such as pumping systems in a high-pressure system, this can lead to major problems. In extreme cases, the water hammer that occurs can disrupt entire piping and pumping systems.

Application
Because the disc of a tilting disc check valve is mounted tilted at an angle of 15⁰, this valve opens at speeds as low as 0.6 m/sec and the response time is minimal. This prevents ''stalling'' of the disc at low speeds and prevents wear on the spindle, springs and bearings. The self-centering seal provides excellent sealing at both high and low pressure differentials. In addition, the valves can be expanded with additional springs to increase the response speed if the probability of fast-return flow is high.
The result is a stable check valve with a fast response time that requires minimal maintenance. This makes this valve suitable for any application where fast response is desired.
